Hi~! all~!

Gyeongju is the capital city 1,000 years ago for hundreds of years and it is designated the whole town of Gyeong as the UNESCO World Heritage.

it is a literally roofless museum and it keeps the gorgeous atmosphere of the typical cultural remains in korea!

and especially when it’s spring, the city is covered by white cherry tree blossoms all over the city ,it is very beautiful and the cherry blossoms last only 1~2 week and it is falling like a snow flake by wind or naturally~! the biking along the trails of cherry tree is the most fantastic way to feel the spring! and it attract visitors from all over places~!

The Gyeongju is very widespread and there are 5 must-go places we will take you there all of the places!

especially,We stay the 1st night at the UNESCO wolrd heritage Yangdong village where you can see the real hundreds years houses! when we arrive there, the town looks like a dark city but in the morning, you can wake up in the gorgeous ancient town and it feels like you get back to hundreds years ago and suddenly you can meet some people from past~! we will make breakfast with the fresh feeling of the house and take a look around the every corner of town and drop by houses! maybe school of old time!

then, we move to the town, most of remains are pretty close each other you can bike around and visit the places! that would be very exciting! Actually we will arrive there in the morning, and we still have enough time to bike afternoon later,so we go hiking to namsan till 2 PM.most of places to go biking you can make it in 4~5hours and it is beautiful at night!

And there is a saying,if you don’t visit Mt.Namsan, you can’t say you have visited gyeongju. You can see true historical remains in Mt.Namsan.We will take you to the Namsan as anyone want!

Please, don’t miss this trip!
Spread the word! bring friends!

[♣1. Biking]

is only preferable to look around in the [1.downtown area : Daereungwon Tomb Complex, Anapji Pond,] area to the[ Bomun lakeside]. We will hand out the map on the day!

and the rest No2,3,4,5 is not preferable by bike. From the Hanok village to Bulguksa temple, It would take by bus for 1 and 10 minutes, almost 50km/35 miles, maybe by bike in 4~5hours and risky with the riding along the cars. and even to the east sea, it would take 40 minutes by bus and 3 hours by bike. so,let’s explore by bus and by biking both~! it’s much smarter way to explore Gyeong-ju~!

♣ biking around the downtown from 2PM to 8PM

the most of remains to the lake(anapji) and the bomun lake, especially don’t miss the view at night,it would be the highlight of this cherry blossoms.

must-things that you can do,
– visiting Daereungwon Tomb Complex (Cheonmachong Tomb)
– biking around bomun lake
– visiting Anapji Pond at night
– visiting Gyeongju National Museum
– visiting Cheomseongdae Observatory at night
– visiting Hyanggyo(old school) and Hanok

don’t miss to taste some of Gyeongju local bread and find the best gimbob restaurant where people are waiting in a line…:)

[♣2. Hanok Traditional Houses] in Yangdong maeul(village) the UNESCO world heritage, it feel like a magical and gorgeous feeling that we get back to 400 years ago when we wake up in this village~! the fresh feeling is amazing! and feels like you are getting younger~! maybe…haha

[♣3. Namsan hiking first and biking afternoon]

We go Mt.Namsan which is a veritable open-air museum with 100 temples, 80 stone Buddha statues, and 60 stone pagodas scattered across it.It would take more than 3 days to look all around the Namsan.so,we choose just a valley where the most budda statues remain.

When we hike along for 1 hour to the top of the Namsan through the valleys, we will be very surprised and got impressed by 10 more buddas. The Mt is 468m in elevation and you don’t have to climb up all the way and when you are on top of the mountain you can command all the view of Gyeong-ju city, this must be the one of the most beautiful sceneries of this trip.Hiking would be around 3 hours or you can hike as long as you want just to see the buddas on the way of valleys and temples.

after this amazing hike, we move to rental shop by bus(10 minutes riding) to rent the bike for us.then it would be around 2PM.

then,we return the bike and move by bus(15 minutes riding) to the accomodation where it is located right next to the Bulguksa temple.
we can have more foods and drinks at night!.

[♣4. Bulguksa temple and The Seokguram Grotto]

the next day,you can visit and relax at the Bulguksa temple which is 1,000 years ago and hike up for 30 minutes to The Seokguram Grotto.

but someone to explore all of the Gyeong-ju,some of remains could be found near the east sea where next to beach ,Underwater Tomb of King Munmu, the sight of the vast blue sea spread before your eyes will leave you breathless. As you gaze at the glittering blue sea, a small but particularly beautiful islet catches your eye. This little rocky islet is the Underwater Tomb of King Munmu (661-681 A.D.).), who unified the three kingdoms and became the 30th ruler of the Silla Kingdom. The king gave specific instructions to be buried in the East Sea after his death so that he would become a dragon and protect Silla from Japanese intruders.Historians still debate whether the ashes of the King Munmu were scattered or stored in an urn and placed under the granite. The beauty of the landscape of the underwater tomb reaches its peak when it’s sunrising.so,we go by bus(50 minutes riding) departs early to see sunrise from the tomb on the ocean. This is the one of the most sacred sunrising in Korea!

then,we get back to temple around 9AM to explore the Bulguksa temple and The Seokguram Grotto.

then, we have time to have lunch and more relaxing time to enjoy the cherry blossoms at Bulguksa.and any one who wants to look around the city have to be early to go and get back to take the bus.or,we can choose a place to pick up if there are many of us want to go to town.(and we don’t explore some amusement park or commercial park.because it is not natural and we don’t have enough time to enjoy the real part of the Gyeong-ju)

[♣5. Underwater Tomb of King Munmu]

Actually, the silla dynasty flourish in its peak when the Munmu king come to throne,we love country way more, when he pass away he wished to be buried a rock along the seacoast in the ocean and so he can be a guard to protect country from invasion of other countries. There is no tomb we can see, but the spirit over the beach is very sacred and there are many people to come to have a ceremony when the sun is coming up, you can see maybe sometimes performance, dance, singing of shamanism on the beach .

and then, we move to the pagoda which is builted by the King Munmu. So, don’t miss it!

[♣ Itinerary]

* we try to cover all the places.and if there is unexpected situation coming up ,such as traffic, or weather condition. then we will find alternatives and it usually turns out better than original plan! so,don’t worry and enjoy trip!
